Marchesa

Named after one of the most controversial figures of the early-20th-century, the Marchesa Luisa Casati, the fashion house by the same name is the favorite of such starlets as Penélope Cruz, Diane Kruger, Kate Beckinsale, Rachel Weisz, Ali Larter and Sharon Stone.

It is not hard to figure out why, once one looks at the many beautiful collections created by the British designers Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig.

( Keren Craig and Georgina Chapman)

The co-founders, Georgina Chapman and Keren Craig, met at Chelsea College of Art and Design in London and found that they each had something to bring to the table. The fruitful collaboration had at its basis Keren’s print and embroidery design skills and Georgina’s draping and design expertise. It resulted in the creation of the Marchesa high end fashion house in 2004.

For their elegant evening gowns they draw inspiration from vintage and Asian influences.
I tried picking some of my favorites and found that it was extremely difficult to select as there are almost no gowns in their collections that would not make one dream of owning them.
So I couldn't really restrict my selection as much as I would have like to. Here are my picks below:
